Tissue Transglutaminase (TTG)
- Description
- IgA anti-TTG autoantibodies is a highly specific and sensitive antibody test in the diagnosis of coeliac disease. The antibody becomes negative a few months after starting gluten free diet. It can also be used to monitor compliance with a gluten free diet. In IgA deficient patients IgG endomysial is tested for. IgG TTG is at present not available.
