Foundation of SYNLAB GmbH
Foundation of SYNLAB GmbH – Together with a number of partners, Dr. bartl Wimmer establishes synlab GmbH as an ‘association of freelance laboratory physicians’ in Augsburg
Foundation of Labco SA
Foundation of Labco SA – A group of French biologists establish Labco SA with 9 groups of laboratories in France. The project had been launched in 2001.
Synergy Health
Synergy Health, the award winning and world-leading company in outsourced health-related industries (founded in 1991), purchases Isotron, along with JMJ Laboratories.
JMJ
JMJ Laboratories renamed Synergy Health Laboratory Services.
Genon Laboratories
Synergy Health purchases Genon Laboratories, a UKAS accredited food testing Laboratory established in 2006 by a team of highly skilled molecular biologists and immunologists.
Labco Spain
Labco Spain invested into iPP for access to pathology laboratories in the UK.
Christie Pathology Partnership (CPP)
The Christie Pathology Partnership (CPP) established, a joint venture between SYNLAB and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester.
synlab Clinical Trial Ltd
synlab Clinical Trial Ltd relocated to Hammersmith Medicines Research.
Pathology First
Pathology First formed as a joint venture between iPP, Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and private sector partners.
Screensafe UK
Screensafe UK (a laboratory services company founded by the President of the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists 27 years earlier) acquired by Synergy Health Laboratory Services.
Cinven acquires SYNLAB
Cinven acquires SYNLAB, combining forces in the UK to form SYNLAB group, creating  one of the largest European operators of medical diagnostic laboratories, headquartered in Germany.
This follows the completion of the acquisition of Labco, headquartered in France which, combined with SYNLAB, has created the only truly pan-European clinical laboratories business operating across 35 countries and undertaking more than 400 million clinical tests annually across Europe.
Royal Opening of New Laboratory in Basildon
HRH The Duke of Kent opened the Pathology First laboratory, marking an important first step towards realising the vision of an innovative and high quality pathology service in South Essex.

SYNLAB, the leading provider of medical diagnostic services in Europe, announced the acquisition of Lextox Drug and Alcohol Testing based in Cardiff.
Lextox Is an ISO 17025 UKAS accredited laboratory specialising in hair drug and alcohol testing.
Acquisition of Veterinary Pathology Group (VPG)
SYNLAB, the leading provider of medical diagnostic services in Europe, has today announced the acquisition of Veterinary Pathology Group (VPG). The group comprises four laboratories in the UK called TDDS, PTDS, CTDS and Bridge Pathology as well as the laboratory VLSI in the Republic of Ireland.
SYNLAB agrees to sell Analytics & Services business to SGS
SYNLAB, the leading medical diagnostic services provider in Europe, announces the signing of an agreement to sell its Analytics & Services (A&S) unit to SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.

Synnovis Hub Goes Live
April 2 marked a milestone achievement for Synnovis as its new, state-of-the-art hub laboratory in south east London (pictured left) processed its first live pathology samples. The moment was captured here.
This achievement was made possible thanks to some meticulous planning, significant investment and years of hard work from colleagues, in collaboration with NHS Trust partners and a raft of stakeholders.
