Science for Life, Health and Wellbeing
SYNLAB, the medical diagnostics provider, has set out its ambition to become the UK’s leading laboratory diagnostics organisation by 2027.
Across its three service areas of diagnostic and wellness testing, drug and alcohol testing, and NHS pathology partnerships, SYNLAB UK & Ireland currently delivers more than 63 million tests a year via its extensive laboratory network.
It has now unveiled a new vision, purpose and values which set a clear direction for the continued growth and success of each of its services in the UK – The Christie Pathology Partnership, Pathology First, Southwest Pathology Services, Synnovis, Lextox and SYNLAB Laboratory Services.
There are two things that define our people. The first is a uniting passion for science and innovation, and the second is a true pride in our collective ability to make a real difference to people’s lives, health and wellbeing.
Mark Dollar, Chief Executive Officer of SYNLAB UK & Ireland
These themes came up time and again in conversations with colleagues across each of our service areas during the development of our vision and purpose, very clearly identifying who we are and our way forward.
As a result of these conversations, our core purpose was defined as making a positive difference to people’s lives, health and wellbeing through science, innovation and high-quality diagnostics.
In tandem with this core purpose, SYNLAB’s vision is that, by 2027, it will be recognised as the UK’s leading laboratory diagnostics organisation with people, quality and innovation consistently at its heart.
This vision and purpose underpin all that SYNLAB does – from the provision of pioneering pathology services to the acquisition and cultivation of the very best talent, from the delivery of outstanding quality standards that can be relied upon to make informed decisions to improving the environmental and social impact of the organisation as a whole.
I am very proud of what we have achieved together at SYNLAB to date. Aligning the focus and talent of more than 2,800 people behind a common purpose and vision for the UK marks a new chapter.
Mark Dollar, Chief Executive Officer of SYNLAB UK & Ireland
Success will be evident across our unique services‘ offerings and the wider business by the sharing of learning and best practice; the co-development and delivery of innovative new services; recognised scientific excellence and advancement of clinical and operational practice; and access for all employees to great training, development and career opportunities, no matter where they are based.
I’m excited for the future and confident that, by working together, we can realise the potential of our ambitious organisation
