Desmoglein-1 (DSG1) and desmoglein-3 (DSG3) antibody detection by ELISA
- Description
- Quantitation of anti-DSG1 and anti-DSG3 IgG antibodies is performed on serum samples using automated ELISA methodologies. This is a quantitative test for detection of both antibodies which are strongly associated with diseases of the pemphigus family. The test provides diagnostic confirmation, disease sub-typing and treatment monitoring information in these patients and results are typically combined with indirect immunofluorescence data for initial diagnostic purposes.
