Daratumumab Immunofixation
- Description
- Daratumumab is a fully humanized IgG kappa monoclonal antibody that targets the CD38 protein, thereby destroying multiple myeloma cells. In serum protein electrophoresis and immunofixation, daratumumab can simulate an endogenous IgG kappa paraprotein band which can lead to result misinterpretation. In such samples, confirmatory test for absence or presence of M-protein may be required in monitoring myeloma patients using the hydrashift daratumumab immunofixation. This test is not currently included in the laboratory's UKAS scope of accreditation to ISO15189:2012.

Samples may be stored for up to 7 days between 2 – 8ËšC and 3 days between 19- 25ËšC. Frozen sera are stable for 3 months between -26 – 30ËšC.
