Adrenal antibodies

Description
Autoantibodies to the adrenal cortex are seen in approximately 70% of patients with “idiopathic” or primary (autoimmune) Addison's disease. They may also form part of the autoantibody spectrum seen in the autoimmune polyendocrinopathy. The investigation offered is based on indirect immunofluorescence using primate adrenal tissue as substrate.
