Used to determine measles susceptibility in pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals following possible measles exposure, or to assess need for MMR vaccine in health care workers and other vaccine candidates. This assay is available routinely Mon to Fri. This test is not UKAS accredited

- '- Post possible measles exposure to assess susceptibility and need for post-exposure prophylaxis. For individiuals at risk of severe measles - pregnant; immunocompromised - and without a reliable history of vaccination. - Assess need for MMR vaccine in health care workers and other vaccine candidates.

- 2.5 - 5ml Yellow Top Serum Separation Tube (SST) Clotted Blood (for serum).
- Storage and transport
- Place labelled sample in a sealed sample bag and send to Central Specimen Reception (CSR). To prevent sample haemolysis please store samples in refrigerator if a delay in sending samples to CSR is unavoidable.
