Qualitative or quantitative chemiluminescent immuno-assays used to diagnose primary EBV infection and determine EBV status. Test comprises EBNA IgG, VCA IgM and, if required, VCA IgG. EBV profile is included in the glandular fever screen, with CMV IgM and toxoplasma gondii IgM. EBV viral load testing may aid interpretation. This assay is available routinely Mon to Fri.

Clinical details
Used to determine EBV status pre-transplant/immunosuppression and test for post-transplant seroconversion.
Place labelled sample in a sealed sample bag and send to Central Specimen Reception (CSR). To prevent sample haemolysis please store samples in refrigerator if a delay in sending samples to CSR is unavoidable.
