Beta 2 microglobulin
- Description
- β2-Microglobulin is an 11 KDa protein found on the surface of all nucleated human cells as the light chain component of the dimeric HLA Class I moiety. Increased β2M is seen in multiple myeloma and lymphoma. Increased CSF β2M suggests CNS involvement in the fore mentioned conditions. Increased urinary β2M indicates renal tubular dysfunction.
