Collagen VII (COLVII) antibody detection by ELISA
- Description
- Quantitation of anti-collagen VII IgG antibodies is performed on serum samples using automated ELISA methodologies. This is a quantitative test for detection of antibodies which are specificaaly associated with epidermolysis bullosa acquisita (EBA). The test provides diagnostic confirmation and treatment monitoring information in these patients and results are typically combined with indirect immunofluorescence data for initial diagnostic purposes. Additionally, this assay can be used to differentiate EBA from dermal-binding (laminin) pemphigoid.
