Gastric Parietal Cell antibody

Description
Antibodies to gastric parietal cell occur in pernicious anaemia, autoimmune thyroid disease and in the elderly. It is tested for by IIF using a composite block of rodent stomach, liver and kidney. For the diagnosis of pernicious anaemia it is advised that intrinsic factor antibody is tested for.
