(SLA) Soluble Liver Antigen blot (part of autoimmune liver blot panel)
- Description
- Part of Liver immunoblot panel, includes M2, LKM, LC-1 and SLA antibodies. Anti-soluble liver antigen (anti-SLA) is one of a number of autoantibodies associated with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). However, it is not unique to AIH and has been described in 10% of patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infection. It is detected by immunoassay but not by IIF. The antigenic target is a 50 kD cytosolic protein.
