Histology

Medical Microbiology
The Microbiology Department provides a comprehensive service for the diagnosis, management and control of microbial disease. The department also handles cases involving Public Health issues such as salmonella infections and meningitis and is involved in the monitoring and prevention of hospital acquired infections. Point of Care Testing
Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), near patient or bedside testing, refers to any analytical test performed by non-pathology staff outside the conventional laboratory setting. Our POCT service aims to improve outcomes for patients, by supporting clinicians in getting results and determining effective treatment quickly.
Serology
Our Serology laboratory analyses blood samples to detect antibodies, antigens, and other markers of immune response. Our team diagnose infections, monitor immunity and support disease surveillance.
