About The Christie Pathology Partnership

Since 2014, we have delivered pathology services to The Christie and other NHS healthcare providers, both regionally and nationally. In addition to being an international leader in research, The Christie is the largest single-site specialist cancer centre in Europe, supported by a team of world-class consultants.

In June 2025 SYNLAB UK & Ireland commenced a new 15+ year contract with The Christie to continue our joint venture.

This new contract is already delivering on multi-million pound investment into two new state-of-the-art laboratories to provide increased capacity and resilience. It also includes funding and resource for research and development to help improve diagnosis and treatment for the patients of the future.

Undertaking more than 1.2 million tests each year, our testing services range from breast tumour receptor testing and histopathology to haematology and stem cell processing.

As well as drawing on their own considerable expertise and experience, our team at The Christie Pathology Partnership also have access to SYNLAB’s global laboratory and diagnostic network, offering a wide range of clinical and operational knowledge.
