SYNLAB UK & Ireland have extensive experience of working in partnership with the NHS to deliver and improve pathology services through its existing pathology joint ventures – including Southwest Pathology Services (SPS).
For a decade, the SPS team has played a crucial role in contributing positively to healthcare in Somerset. We are currently offering a new employment opportunity for a Stores Assistant to become a part of our team. The position is located at our Southwest Pathology Services Hub Laboratory in Taunton on a full-time and permanent basis.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week / Monday – Friday / 08:30am – 5pm
Responsibilities of the role:
- Overseeing the procurement, receipt, distribution, and utilization of stock, including managing stock counts and reconciliation.
- Handling the reception and distribution of laboratory supplies to external clients.
- Ensuring the effective daily storage and movement of laboratory supplies.
- Executing all assigned responsibilities in line with local working practices, upholding elevated personal standards, and adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
- Planning and prioritizing work allocations as directed by senior laboratory staff and responding accordingly to the requirements of routine and urgent tasks.
What we’re looking for:
- Successful completion of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent, with proficiency in both Maths and English.
- Demonstrated high levels of accuracy and numeracy.
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with personnel across various levels within the laboratory and user organizations.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
