
Mark Dollar
Chief Executive Officer
Mark joined SYNLAB UK and Ireland in March 2017 and is responsible for all operational activities across the company. Previously Mark served for 10 years in the Army with the Household Cavalry Regiment before leaving as a Major to enter into the Healthcare arena.
Mark was a founding member of the management team at Virgin Care where, for the last 10 years, he has undertaken roles that span the corporate and regional operations sphere and more latterly with the position of Chief Operating Officer. He has a BSc (Hons) from Reading University in Land Management (Development).

Tom Evans
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Tom joined SYNLAB UK and Ireland in March 2018 and is responsible for all financial activities and governance in the business. He joined the company from Capita Plc where he held a number of senior Finance Director roles, most recently as Portfolio Finance Director for the Local Public Services division.
ACA qualified with Deloitte, he previously worked as an Equity Analyst for JPMorgan and Gartmore Investment Management focussing on the European utilities market. Tom graduated from UCL with a BSc in Statistics.

Greg Austin
Chief People Officer
Greg joined SYNLAB UK and Ireland in 2025, bringing with him 30 years of experience in HR. He has worked across many industries, including public sector, not for profit, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, utilities and outsourcing.
Most recently, he spent 12 years with Sodexo Health & Care as HR & HSE Director, responsible for HR, Learning and Development, Health and Safety, Social Value and Industrial Relations. At SYNLAB UK and Ireland he is responsible for the strategic and operational development, management and planning of the HR & OD portfolio.
Greg is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and has an MA in HR Management.

Saghar Missaghian-Cully
Chief Operating Officer
Joining SYNLAB UK & Ireland as Chief Operating Officer in January 2026, Saghar oversees complete operational life-cycle management across the organisation’s large portfolio of laboratory diagnostic businesses. She draws on a distinguished career of more than 28 years to drive excellence, with a strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration and high-quality outcomes.
Saghar holds a Master’s and Professional Doctorate in Biomedical Science, an Executive MBA and Chartered Manager status, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and ability to unite scientific rigour with business acumen. She has previously served as Managing Director for two large pathology joint ventures, where her leadership earned significant recognition both nationally and internationally.

Jamie Blackman
Chief Financial Officer
Jamie is a highly commercial and strategic finance leader, he has a background of working for and with organisations that range from SMEs to blue-chip giants, including in mainland Europe and the USA. Jamie is experienced in privately owned, private equity and public companies in sectors such as digital services, technology outsourcing and consultancy, aerospace, healthcare and regulated businesses.
Jamie has significant expertise in leading teams through large, complex transformation programmes and in driving business improvement.

Selina Herlihy
Chief Commercial Officer
Selina joined iPP in 2011, now heading the Commercial team responsible for all contracts and commercial arrangements with customers and suppliers, as well as overseeing legal matters for the company.
A Chartered Accountant and Admitted Solicitor, Selina has extensive commercial experience in both the public and private health sectors. Prior to joining iPP, Selina was Head of Commercial for the Department of Health’s NHS Contracting Division, managing deals with private sector entities.

Jo Shannon
Chief Information Officer
Jo joined SYNLAB UK and Ireland in June 2024 to take on responsibility for information technology support, development and strategy.
Jo will be responsible for driving forward an integrated IT Strategy and developing our IT maturity ensuring our processes and technology adoption initiatives support our OneSYNLAB strategy and enable business growth. Jo comes to us with 20 years’ experience in IT system implementation, development and delivery, spending the majority of her career in the geospatial industry as CTO for Ordnance Survey and most recently as Solutions Engineering Director for RS Group.
Jo is also the appointed Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) for SYNLAB UK & Ireland and Synnovis.

Dr John Burke
Chief Medical Officer
Joining SYNLAB UK & Ireland in April 2026, John is responsible for the advancement of our clinical strategy, and ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of advancing diagnostics in the UK. He brings with him significant experience in senior leadership roles, most recently as Chief Medical Officer at AXA, and more than 20 years as an NHS GP Partner and Trainer where he contributed to clinical governance, prescribing, safeguarding and service redesign.
John holds degrees from University of Cambridge in Natural Sciences and University of Oxford in Medicine. His early hospital career spanned neurosurgery, trauma, intensive care, psychiatry and paediatrics, followed by a move into emergency medicine and later general practice.
